What model does your school use to facilitate research or inquiry? AISD uses the Big Six and some classroom teachers are using Kath Murdoch's inquiry model.
Great question Joe! I think the PYP should be doing more to link these two and provide support for these individuals as well as classrooms teachers that work collaboratively with them. At AISD in my role as tech facilitator I meet regularly with the teacher librarian and we are working together on combing our areas into one "literacies" document in order to link philosophically, we're still in initial stages in this. What do other schools do out there?

We've just combined both departments into one. It's facilitated a lot of discussions! There is so much overlap in roles - we're now having discussions surrounding support, curriculum, ordering, etc. that wouldn't have happened without a common "boss." We're about to move into the same physical space - changing ICT and a separate Library to a "learning commons" or "information commons" approach.
I think that may depend on the school culture and level of integration. In my context, it's key. Staff need someone to brainstorm with them, upskill them, team-teach with them. Many staff don't know where to start (is this partly due to our documentation?) so my job is provocations, support, training.... I can't imagine our school without it.
Andy has a lot of experience using online eportfolios. I think he uses weebly. He'd be a great resource!
My school uses keynote (Mac native presentation software) because our internet connection isn't always reliable. Other schools I know use Moodle. Dr. Helen Barrett http://electronicportfolios.com/myportfolio/index.html has a great website that details some of the choices out there and reviews them as well. Check it out.
When listening to groups talk about the connections between ICT and the essential elements I started wondering about what "emergency-preparedness" issues schools have in place and how ICT might play into those. It's probably not as applicable in all contexts but I know in Dhaka our school has to be prepared in case there's a governmental coup or a riot and we have to shut the school down. What implications does that have for our school, our curriculum? We've used Blackbaud in the past to create a virtual school that we expected teachers to create lesson plans. What do other schools use?
Thanks for raising this - we need to consider this at our school and I think it has 'fallen off the radar! I would also be interested to here what others do. Maybe Bangkok schools could share what they do as I understood they had this issue when the tensions escalated earlier in 2010.

What are you trying to assess - skills? knowledge? understandings? Are you assessing technology skills or the "content" delivered/accessed/created by the technology?
I think this depends on the expectations placed on you.
Is there any way you can utilize self-assessment to put the load back on students (& help develop their metacognition at the same time!)?
I have a tension that often ICT in curriculum is perceived as information literacy with a bit of media and digital citizenship. Little emphasis is given to computational thinking eg programming, electronics ( how computers work as oppose how to use them) and less and less so to operations and productivity.
